Nice Ride

In September '15, this oil painting won 1st Place at the First Brush of Fall in Converse Indiana.

'Nice Ride' developed after a couple hours of driving around an unfamiliar area looking for a perfect spot to park & work without too much activity around me to distract from working start to finish. This place is a small town park with a horse barn & all of the equipment needed for storage & operation of the space. This horse trailer was parked near the barn & I was attracted to the area surrounding it and I really like the look of these little trailers. I also loved the colors and the stillness of the scene. I could sense the activity that usually occurred here but that day I was alone & loving it. There was another artist at some distance who was working on a watercolor but she never finished it. We only said a few words of greeting & then worked quietly on our own. Later that day, I entered my finished oil in the competition & won 1st place. It was a very good day!
